Volunteer Opportunities. – Brief Task Descriptions.

Kitchen/ Catering Volunteers - To assist with washing dishes etc.
To serve teas/ coffees, toast and other similar foodstuffs plus the meals.
To clean all work surfaces and ensure that the kitchen area is safe, tidy and clean.
Bus Escort – To travel with the bus to the homes of members and collect members and assist them from their homes to the bus, acting as a support for those who have difficulty walking and helping those who require a wheelchair.
To assist members on to the bus either by the stairs or by the rear tail-lift as appropriate.
Day Centre Helper -
To be involved in games & activities in the Day Centre and/ or
To assist with the cleaning of the centre on a regular basis. (Equipment and cleaning products will be provided.) Using Vacuum Cleaner, Polishing Surfaces, -Sweeping Up, Dusting, Mopping Floors.
Car Drivers.
To transport Elderly members to and from the Centre using their own cars.
The usual times being: 9.00am to 10.30am and then later 2.pm to 3.30pm (Mon-Fri)
Full Driving licence, a four door car and driving experience is required.
Mileage Claims accepted at the usual rates.
Gardener.
Knowledge of gardening an advantage although training is provided
Ability to handle gardening equipment/ grass cutters/ etc.
Reliable.
Bingo Caller.
Quiz/ Memory Jogging Activities Organiser and Assistant.
Person Specification for all Volunteers & Staff.

- An interest in supporting older people
Potential Applicants complete an application & selection process before being appointed and their work is supervised.
