It is just over a year now since I took over the role of Treasurer, which coincided with a world wide recession. So in our own society at A.C.C.A. we have had to carefully scrutinise our outgoings and our income against this background.
It is with some relief that I am able to report that we have ended the last financial year 2009—2010 with an operating surplus, which was added to our reserves.
The effect of having fewer people attending the centre during the year is evident in he fall in income and particularly in the grant received from the E.R Yorkshire Council, who have been changing the criteria by which people are assessed for funding. This review is currently ongoing and we anxiously await the outcome and hope it wont prove detrimental to the quality of services we currently provide for the Elderly and Disabled.
