Summary
Summary.-
Anlaby Community Care Association has developed its services since it was first opened on its present site on January 16th 1987, (having previously established itself with it’s first constitution in 1981) providing the local population with a unique building for their many uses, being the only Community Care Centre of its kind within the area providing transport, day care and lunches for over 100 members per week.
The few paid staff we have also donate their additional time, resources and support to the centre as their wish to help with its development and success. We can only afford to employ the minimum necessary number, part time, to cover the key roles involved in running the organisation.
As a charity we rely heavily on donations and fund raising etc. to finance the upkeep of our building and to run the mini-bus, which provides transport for those who would otherwise be isolated in their homes, improving their quality of life, also organised shopping trips to take our members to local supermarkets.
We also depend on support from the community both in the form of volunteers and from the many groups who support our work by using and our centre and contributing to the services provided.
More people need to come forward to help us to continue the services we provide and hopefully to help increase the scope of our efforts in the near future.
Our hope is that the relatives, friends of the people we support and those who hear of our work will consider the need of the elderly & infirm and how they can help us to make a positive difference to the lives of the Elderly & Infirm through their involvement and support.
